Sidecurtain rebuild

Anybody have any suggestions on rebuilding sidecurtains. This is primarily for a 62 Sprite MKII. The metal appears to be in good shape (not bent). No plastic for windows or rubber seals. I would like to clean/polish up the metal frame, and replace everything else with new. Any suggestions as to who provides the best quality and fit for the seals? Also, can the window material be made out of lexan or is it best to order that from someone. If ordering is better, from what company? The clamps for securing to the door rail are in good shape except for corrosion. What would be the best method of protection? Paint with general purpose outdoor paint or power coat, other? Also, when installing the window material into the metal frame, any tricks to do this.
Thanks,Magyar

Frank C. has rebuilt many of these and uses Lexan. I forget what he uses for window felt. I'm sure he'll respond on this one.

I hope he does...I'm ready to do the ones on my '63 Midget.

I second Martin's stuff.

Cheers

felt you can get from any womens sewing store.

Be careful, I have one rubber suround that fit just fine and the other is too small. Sigh.

I would only warn that Lexan is VERY prone to scratching easily and is quite vulnerable to solvents! Plexiglas is somewhat more resistant to scratches and solvents!

Sounds like Martin MacGregor is the one to go to, understanding that there may be a worth while time delay on a response. Meaning he's good and provides top-notch material, but does not rush. As I see more and more gray hairs in the mirror, I'm liking that approach to life more and more. Any consensus on lexan vs plexiglas for the windows? Anybody?
Thanks, Magyar
