Side Boxes: I know some of you like to keep the side boxes OFF so that you have maximum width for posts, etc. I would recommend, if you are going to keep them off, that you pop over to the Portal Page once in a while to see what's in those boxes because sometimes I add new stuff and add different boxes. For example, I have now turned on the "shout box" again on the right side boxes. so if you want to see what's going on there and what sort of shout outs folks are making (no, it serves no useful purpose, it just supposed to be for fun), then you can turn on the right side boxes. Also, with the new Gallery forums, there is a new box on the right that lists random new photos from posts in these new gallery forums. The new Photos from the Main Member's gallery is still there also, (one is above the other).

Also, on the left side we have a box that shows "Recent Posts". In short, if you have a reasonably wide screen and high res monitor, I'd recommend keeping both sides of boxes on, but of cousre it is up to you. I just hate to think that as things get added or changed on theose info boxes, that you might miss something. In case you forgot, you can control the side boxes from your Preferences section under "My Stuff."

Good point, Basil....I always enter the site via the Portal Page & have both sidebars turned on...I like to read them before jumping to the Forums where I have both sidebars turned off.
