TR2/3/3A Showed the TR3 tonight

Tonight was our local annual city-wide car show. Typical Chevy, Ford and hotrod show, but like last year I brought the TR3. I probably would have gotten more attention, but I was parked next to my friend's 1967 Lamborghini Miura, which is a crowd favorite (but neither of us won any awards, since the show organizers stuffed the ballot box with their own cars and their friends' cars.!)

Was nice to have people come up and talk about the TR3 -- so many people saying "I had one of these" or "my dad had one of these, and I used to sit in the back on the shelf as he was going 90!"

Even though the car looked good -- ALL I SEE ARE THE FLAWS! It's horrible how we condition ourselves to always find the things we need to fix... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

What was even more fun is that a few people recognized me from my weekly column and came up to me to say they read it and love it. A Jag XJS V12 owner commented she loves the fact I often focus on LBCs!

If my pix came out, I'll post one when I download my camera.

We have a bimonthly show that is mostly Detroit Iron, but once in a while we stage a British Invasion. Actually feel quite welcome as everyone enjoys seeing something different. I was parked next to a pristine AC Ace, but still drew a lot of looks and chats... even one load of passengers. Yes, TR3s do seat 4:

Sam:

It's great to just get out with other car nuts isn't it. As much as I enjoy the LBC's we went to the local Ford dealer's yearly show. About 200 cars, went in the TR250 with my 11 year old. Only 10 minutes from my house. Walked around for an hour or so & chatted with a couple of guys around a '65 Mustang fastback. I was telling them how my mom had a '65 coupe 289/3 speed & remember in '66 driving with my brother & 65 pound lab in the back seat when we were 11 & 12 out to Chicago through Canada straight & never complained!

I remember my dad driving 75-85 most of the way across the plans as there was little/no speed limits.

By the way; your 3 & family look great!

That is a nice TR3A... hope mine will look like that someday. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif
