Bonnie shines up nicely. Kicked the old girl over this morning in 38 degrees. Yup....she's a driver. Wonderful low lope sound.
LOUD pipe...Mimi approves.

Hi There David,

I thought you named her "Bonnie" as quoted above.

Russ

It is a Bonnie. That isn't going to be her name.
I fired her up a few times this afternoon.
It helps with start up to increase the idle speed a bit.
Just a smidgen made a big difference.
I rearranged the barn and put the 750 at the back
which gives better access to my tools.
The wife doesn't have to worry about dinging her B
backing out now. Well...to be frank she'd run the Bonnie over
and call it an accident if I'm not careful.
She tells EVERYONE "It's for sale".
:jester:
Got my book to study for my beginner's permit today.
Saw the driving test track. Uh oh....
I can use the permit for 180 days. Maybe give me time to find or rent a scooter for the test.

I am by no means a skilled and experienced rider. Here in Vermont the test track is pretty similar to yours. I had absolutely no trouble putting the bike thru that test track with out anything more than some practice rides. The triumphs of this vintage handle pretty well. Practice some low speed handling, quick stops and learn to flick the bike side to side for the obstacle avoidance test. If you have not seen them check out "A Flick of the Wrist II" on you tube. Some very good pointers there. just dont do what this guy did-

Tags and a permit. Now if the weather would just cooperate.
Yo Russ.....ya'll get that title straightened out.
It was nice seeing you and Jerry at the DMV.
Misery loves company.
:wall:
I had to go back today because Joe signed the title as Joe
instead of Joseph. I had to prepare a same name affidavit for the DMV Nazi. NO tags for YOU. NEXT!
This after waiting nearly an hour for my cue yesterday.
Today I missed 3 questions and one more miss and it would have
been...NO permit for YOU. NEXT.

All legal now, baby.

Y'all don't live in the right kind of small town I guess. Our local DMV never has a wait (maybe on person in front of you) and they're really easy to work with. Didn't even flinch when I brought the MGB in from Canada to get a Utah title.

Good that you're all legal now.

Hi There David,

I`m considering (?) trading my `57TR3 Small Mouth or an outright buy to a gent in GA. who has an early `69TR6 with "Wires & OD" trans. After speaking with the SCDMV; He`s going to have to come up with a Title in his name. End of that story.

I`d rather simply sell my TR3 outright cause there are quite alot of options avail. to me. There is a really nice `73TR6 I`m very int. in. There is also an `60MGA that would be an exc. buy.

There is a "Barn Find" of a `68TR250 (Orig Owner) locally that I would "Love" to have but the "Little old lady from Pasedena" can`t decide on what she wants to do. Please, Anyone reading this & having an orgazim; Don`t ask where it is, How much etc. as this info. will not be disclosed.

On the other hand; Should you have an int. in my TR3; PM me or Email me to discuss finishing a "Show Quality" Restoration.

Regards,

Russ
PS: David, Sharpen up your pool cue & join in on the fun @ "The Rock". Be there before 5:30pm. The 1st. rack breaks promptly @ 6:00.

David,

Sorry you could`nt make it to the Rock for the Pool Tourn. We had 12 people there & randomly picked partners. Lucky guy that I am; I got probably the worst player there for a partner.

Anyways; We will be playing there ea. Wed. We also will be playing ea. "Sat" beginning with this Saturday. This will be a "One on One" competition & will begin @ 4:00pm. Should you decide you`d like to join in on the fun; Please be there by 3:30pm.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Regards, Russ

What a beautiful day for a ride yesterday.
The Bonneville 750 was a hoot to ride.
I've done some tuning and such and it
really is quick.
Some kid on a rice rocket tried to pick a race.
Good sense prevailed and I just let him go.
Man, bike riding is fun.

Sure is.

Always best to just let the squids go on by when they get racy -- safer for you and them.

I get a chit eating' grin every time it fires with a kick.
A front tube is leaking. That will be the next leak
I tackle. I've fixed a couple of leaks so far.
It is so Brit.
Rode without a face shield helmet. I won't do that
again soon. Lord knows what pelted my face.
Hard not to smile riding but dem bugs in the teeth
made me shut my mouth.

If only the Brits had discovered proper metallurgy and gasket technology before it all went south... such amazing machines just a few steps from being brilliant all around. Even my 2007 Bonnie leaked a bit.

Full face helmet (and full suit) here all the time. Can't keep my eyes open in with no shield, and that's not a bright way to ride...

I have a full face helmet but thought I'd give the non shield one I have a try. I also wear riding leathers.

That's the worst part about a new bike in the Spring -- variable weather. You just want to ride every day, all the time.

I guess I do need to mention a couple of things.
More oil leaks...duh. Seal one and two more spring up.
Blew the baffle out of my 2 into 1 custom exhaust.
Found it on the road....right where the bike got REAL loud.
Dropped the bike. Thankfully it was in the barn at the time.
I had kicked her over and forgot I had put the kick stand up.
Once she was warm and thumping along I went to lay it on the stand while i put the proper attire on.
OOPS! She went down like Frazer while still running!
No harm...picked her back up while STILL running.
No damage and I re-installed the baffle with lock nuts and locktite.
Wiped her down after the ride. Rag is a mandatory Brit bike tool.

I grew up on Triumph motorcycles-good find!
I have seen restored examples in the 12K range-
It takes some getting used to the vertical twin thing, but early Triumphs that have been sorted out are a great handling machine. I think $3500 is fine-
