Shot Blower motor???

I noticed this morning that my heater blower wasn't working in the 7. Got home and checked the fuse...OK. Pulled the radio, and ran a jumper from the battery to the hot terminal (the one on top the switch with the Purple. light green stripe), and with it on low speed...nothing. Kick the switch to #3, and the wire got hot and sparked, but no fan. Does this indicate that I have a shot blower motor? Or is there something else in the system that might have failed (relay?). If it's shot, how much of a job is it to replace? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Sounds like my dead 2 speed in my TR6. I replaced it and had it checked at an electrical shop later on in case it was good for a spare. I found that there was a short in the armature winding that would have been more expensive to rewind and repair than the replacement motor cost. Plus the bearings were noisy after 32 years.
