shocks

Hi all,

I was thinking of getting rebuilt shocks from Apple Hydraulics.
They offer and recommend heavy duty (15% stiffer)for the fronts.

I will not be rallying the Healy and just want a nice ride. Do I really need the heavy duty ones?

tia,

Mark

Had them re-do mine as normal and seem fine for regular and even slightly spirited driving. It's a 100 so a little lighter in the front.

Michael.

Peter and his staff are very friendly and easy to do business. He rebuilt my originals two years ago and I do not have a single regret or concern (other than what to do with all of the extra shock oil I no longer need!).

Gaaaaaahhhhhhh My first post and I said Healy!!!!!!!!

Blame it on too exited about BCF.

So I will check out Worldwide Autoparts and most likely go with the standard shocks.

Yes, I know what a Healey rides like, my 25 year old son has yet to experience it.
It's not his '99 Trans Am or his former RX7..boy is he in for a treat!!!!

Thanks for the advice.

Welcome to the forum, humility is a virtue. Hope we can all be a help to you and look forward to your posts and problems.

I have "regular" rebuilds from Apple on the front end. I think they are a little too soft because the wheels tend to bounce a little over more significant bumps. If I were to do it again I would go heavy duty.

Welcome aboard Mark. You can drop Basil a note to add the "e" to your username. Click the "Contact Admin" buton on the left of the page (with the envelope icon) and select the "contact us" tab.

Peter C. is also an excellent "counterman". I have sent him some unmarked cylinders, etc. and he has come up with what I need. He also suggested using some SAAB Quantm brake frames to use in my Elvas's rear brake drums when I could not ID what I had--with a little work they fit perfectly.

It is not C-Diff but Ulcerative Colitis--it is not fun but I am trying my best to get past it and work within the kick-ass effects that my medications are having on me.

Done racing for the year and am going to start devoting my energy over the winter to projects on the 100 that I never wrapped up (Final install of hardtop and fabrication of side curtain brackets) plus possibly going to a small pulley, perhaps a new damper and also check out clearance on oil pump and relief valve tolerance.

Oh yeah--I also want to get better!

Michael, my best wishes for a very speedy recovery. I saw the post on the other forum and hadn't had to time to wish you well until now. Its always interesting to read your posts on racing and tech stuff.
Respectfully,
Rich Kahn

Just Wiki'd Ulcerative Colitis; darn that's a pain in the tush. Would seem treatment is aimed at getting to remission and then changed to keeping in remission. If you are needing treatment/tests/whatever up here, remember we would always have an extra bedroom for you & Mary. BTW, the person who bought my red SP also has a very nice 100-6.
Get Well Soon!!!
