Are any of you experts on shipping a box that may weight 30 lbs from England to California? Slow is ok, it will contain old car parts, mostly rubber for a 1936 Morris 8. The shipping end from England is an individual who is not an expert on international shipping. Neither am I!

Any suggestions would be greatly received.

Go to the Royal Mail website and you can get rates and see your shipping options.

checked their website. They do work well for packages under 5kg, but don't ship international over that weight (i think). But I do receive small shipments from them from parts suppliers and no problems. I have been looking at the DHL site also.

I don't know if it'd work for smaller items,but I had
a trunk lid for our Ford Corsair air freighted from England
for $125,to my door,a few years back.
And it only took 2 weeks to arrive.

Would use DHL. Stay away from the brown truck, as they will charge duty and handling charges on most parcels. If you use a broker, be sure to keep track of it, as I have had parcels sitting on a shelf whilst the paperwork was in transit to me...no email service!
