shifter installation

Novice Bruce again. Installing the shifter there is a O-ring on the bottom I presume to stop the lubrication. My question is it necessary to grease the round ball since it's above the o-ring prior to installation? Can found no help in manuals. Thanks for all the help I have gotten in the past. Bruce

I may be wrong but I thought the O-ring was to keep it from rattleing. I just lubed mine up with tne tranny oil and had no trouble.

V8 is correct! :savewave:
