Shift knob insert is missing

My shift knob insert went missing Monday. I first noticed it missing when leaving Pike's Peak Park in Iowa. We have made a thorough search of the interior Tuesday and are confident it is not there. It is not important how it went missing but I would sure like to get a replacement. Anybody have one that is not needed? Just the insert is missing not sure how it would just pop out but for some reason it did.

Somewhere I have that knob, Tom, but haven't a clue where to look. I'll never need it so I'll see if I can find it.

Kurt.

Tom, I'm sorry, I found my stash of shift knobs then remembered I let it go with a transmission. I would think that salvage yard that I can never remember the name of in So Cal would have one. Regularly on E-bay.

Don't feel bad Kurt, have had the same thing happen a few times forgetting what I still have and what has been let go. At least you took a look see. Probably discovered some forgotten jems while looking. Thanks for your effort.

Yes, Tom, I had forgotten that I have 3 pretty good wood knobs with the enamel cloisonne MG on top. Don't think you can get that quality anymore.

Kurt.

Hey Tom... I actually, I think, have the knob you're looking for. Two caveats: (1) it's not perfect, has a little crack in the glass or whatever's over the shift pattern, and (2) it's actually out of my Jensen Healey (which uses the exact same shift knob, apparently). I believe it has a 3/8 thread. You are welcome to it as I replaced it with a JH logo knob a while back. Looks like I'm right up the road a way from you, near Appleton. Small world.

Tom
If Mike's doesn't work out it turns out that I also have one that I'll send you (it is "good" but not perfect)

Hi guys, that sounds great! I have been looking at new ones and would prefer to keep the original if I can. Maybe try Mike's and see if will work. Mike, send me a pm to let me know how you want to do this. We have been up there in our Midget a few months ago and have had some folks visit us from there a couple times since but those times are unpredictable.

May I just say once again how much I appreciate the spirit of friendship and generousity on this forum.
