Thanks to you guys, I was able to get my antique auto insurance, antique plates her at NJ DMV (in 15 minutes mind you!!!) and the MGB is road born! I take my Grand national toa local cruise night car show and never do I see anything of any kind of MG....not even a Triumph! I think I will bring the MGB to the show even though the original paint on the hood is a little faded. Any suggestions on repainting this thing? I mean I got ripped off by a "car restorer" already. Not sure if I should find a place that does old cars or modern ones. What do you guys think? It's in that sunflower color...kinda cross between yello and orange...

Congrats, BJ!

As for painting, hook up with any local car guys and get some referrals. Doesn't really matter whether they "do" old cars or new; the main thing is that they know their painting, and they understand exactly what you expect. Be specific with what you want and expect done. You can save substantially by removing all the trim - bumpers, lights, etc. before dropping it off.

Local car shows are great for networking, as most of the folks there have "been there; done that". Just do your homework and you should be fine.

Oh, and paint codes are available, if you want the original color. Again, do your homework. The more you do ahead of dropping it off at the paint shop, the better off you'll be.

Congrats on getting the MG back on the road.

Mickey's got it -- do a bit of networking to see who the locals recommend.
