Guys! She wouldn't start, found her empty. Pumped 5 gallons into her and no luck. Primed the carburetor. No luck. Waited 2 days and took a chance and VROOM!! Now a few questions please (excuse the newbie!):

The carburetor looks original. Any recommendations on a replacement? DO I pick the factory standard OEM or is there a better one out there for my 1979 1500cc motor?

There is a hose that conencts I think the air filter boc to some big black part...like a rounded box...I need a new hose as mine is missing and what si this for?? Is that the heater box??

Any idea on how I can clean up the valve cover's chrome cap? I'd ;ike it to be shiny! Or shoudl I just replace it?

Perhaps there is a manual somewhere someone can recommedn to help me with all of this. Sorry, but I am new to this!

If the wheels are kind of the 5 point/star (mag??) wheels, can you put the trim ring on them?

When you put in carpet kits, shoudl the carpet overlap or be cut to match the edges??

Anyway, I put my 8 year old daugher in the passenger seat and we had a blast driving aroudn the driveway. woo hoo!

Best,

Lou aka Blackjokr

Ok the big "box" is the heater unit. I see people taling about removing them because who really drives this car int he winter?? If I remove it does anythign have ot be capped off?

I have to say that the heater is nice to have. On cool evening drives in spring or late summer, you will be glad that you had it!

Yes, you would have to cap things off to remove it.

Put a new cap on the valve cover, cheep and easy. Moss has em.

Save your dollas a bit and have the carpet kit, the edges will be bound where needed, the rest overlaps and some peices are glued in, the rest have snaps.
