Did you ever come across any Hillmans, especially the vans or the Imps (Sport & Rallye)? Don't mind what condition, it would only be for parts! Any scrappies that you would recommend for oddball British car parts?

Thanks,

Imp's are quite rare within North America itself... I only know of one Imp that is licensed for the road in all of Ontario! (not that that is the question)

There is one man - Ian Young - who lives in Ontario on the Niagara Peninsula. I'm told that he has three very moldy Imp's including one van, not sure if he still has them or how expensive they are. Phone call only, he isn't online. For inquiries regarding Ian just ask on BritCarTalk (which I know you're on) and there are folks on there who have seen Ian's stuff.

And if you ask on BritCarTalk I wouldn't be surprised if someone on there may have the parts you need, you could always post a wanted ad in the British Saloon Car Club of Canada newsletter as well.

I have a phone number for Ian Young, but I heard he has a real "laid back" attitude and I was told to make sure we've got something else planned for the weekend too, because if you go to see him it might be a wasted trip, even if you've called him beforehand.

I'm no longer on the mailing list, too many emails nad not enough time to deal with them! Maybe I should subcribe again.

I was looking at the Collector Car Online page and found this

https://adcache.collectorcartraderonline.com/10/2/5/79093925.htm

I hope it links. Also, If someone looks up the earliest Classic Motorsports Mags, Or maybe even Grassroots Motorsports before CM came out, someone was selling 2-3 cars for I think $1500. might be worth following up if the ad expired before the cars were sold.
Good Luck, I love the Imps!

There's an "Imp on a Stick" at the salvage yard near me - the one my friend owns...perfect body, kids shot passenger side door window out....no engine or interior but everything else.....those of you who've been to visit me know of which junk yard I speak (on Brock Road near the new high school)....they're not interested in selling as its a real eye catcher!

JP - Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, when I click on any of the info contained in it, it says that the ad has expired. There is a phone number though...

Tony! Where have you been sweetie! I only want parts (suspension & tranny) - they can keep the shell on the stick!

Niall - We're members of The Imp Club and so see all those adverts. If we were in the UK we could get all manor of goodies, free cars even, but shipping? I'm not ready to touch that again after the fiasco with UPS and the transaxle, which is still "lost" by the way! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif
