Shaguar spotted!

Out and about at the weekend in Burlington, WI. I spotted an E-Type (forgot to notice whether it was a Series 1 or a later version) 6-cylinder painted in the Austin Powers "Shaguar" scheme. Since this is hardly a common thing to do, (and would only detract from the value of the car unless it were the actual vehicle used in the movie) I was wondering if anyone on the board might know who it belonged to.

Apparently, Austin Powers is selling a lot of red, white and blue paint nowadays. I saw a "shaguar" in Washington, DC last weekend. I think it was a '68 XKE roadster, very nice example.

An elderly gent was driving, had a BIG smile on his face, too!

I spotted one at the Brit Car Show in early August (Cleveland, OH). Some people obviously think more highly of the paint job than value. To each their own.

I have to agree with you. Rather a shame to spend money on copying a paint scheme from a bad movie, when for the same outlay they probably could have had a first-rate respray in a real colour. Oh well.
