25 years ago I converted a back storage room at my home to a really nice full bath. Because we had an existing concrete slab, I had to run the hot and cold water overhead and I had a backflush toilet installed to go through the back wall and had both the shower, sink and toilet exit the wall, make a sharp turn down into the ground and ran a long sewer drain to the front of the house. We then poured a large concrete walk in the back of the house. All was good until the concrete began severely cracking and separating. You guessed it, the concrete finishers encased the plastic drain lines solidly in the concrete, with no wiggle room for the plastic pipes to give. Now I have both drains split and cracked. Gotta move the AC compressor, cut most of the slab out, and redo all the outside (just the first few feet underground) and all the inside plastic. Bummer.... Plus, the AC is very old and will likely need to be replaced as well. Looking at dropping about 6 thou. Non to happy. All this could have been prevented if the cement contractor had done his job correctly.
 
I wasn't aware that y'all had indoor plumbing in Louisiana, way to go Bill!

Hateful. Going thru similar here with copper in the slab. All overhead now, finishing up today and leak testing.
 
Seems to me in a case like this, you're darned if you don't and darned if you do...do.... :whistle:

sadly this is a little more like er, um, up (you know who's) creek without a paddle.

I guess if you're "leak testing" you must be getting rid of all those CAB's :devilgrin:
 
Sorry to hear that Bill. My grandmother has overhead pipes and in the summer the cold water will scald you from the attic heat.
