Hi
I am restoring a IIa , and took a bunch of photos ofmthr engine bay, but somehow missed capturing this bracket. Any ideas what it is for?

I've looked thru the parts pages and never saw anything like it. If it isn't a lift eye, can't help you. Have you contacted a local Rover Club? There is a very good club in your area with a very informative and knowledgeable website.

I've had 3 Series IIA's and a Series 3 but that does not look vaguely familiar. It appears to be some sort of lifting bracket considering the thickness of the steel (?). Maybe some sort of aftermarket or fabricated item.

I'd look for two holes that match up to the bolts on the bracket, or, just throw it in the spare parts box and someday it may become apparent what it's for. One thing I have learned, these old Land-Rovers, due to their utilitarian nature, have been modified and modified over the years to perform specialized functions. It is extremely rare to find one in a totally un-modified state today.

Thanks for the input. Maybe one day all will be revealed.

Spedo pedal mount. I assume your car is left hand drive. It mounts on the right side of the foot well.

Sorry, this is about the only picture I have of the area.
