hi all, im after information on the location of the serial number that is stamped on the differential housing of an austin healey bj8?

Welcome to the forum I hope you can get something out being here as I have. there is a mine of information here all you have to do is dig for it. Whereabouts in OZ are you? There are a number of you on here and we all have a great time.

On 01/05/09 ARTQ asked almost the same question and received a couple of nice pictures in the reply.

My 64 BJ8 has the serial number stamped on the left hand side next to the spring perch on the bottom half of the housing along with the gear ratio. Have a good day!

Don't let how literate you are stop you from being on here, that's how you learn. By asking a lot of questions everyone benefits. Don't forget we all started off like you at some time. The more you are on the computer the easier it becomes.

What part of Adelaide do you live in? I was there from 1978 to 1984 at RAAF Edinburgh with my 100/4.

Have to agree with zblu, The Healey Factory is going to be your best source for parts and info. It's worth a trip over there just to look and see.
