selling AHs

I am sorry to say that Ebay is the best. People already know what they want and you reach the whole world quickly and cheaply. I bought mine there and have been pretty pleased. Bidders tend to go high if they want what you've got. In person people tend to low-ball and pick your car apart unless someone else is right there looking over your car. I sold my XK 140 via the paper and the next person to call would have given me my full price. You also don't have to be around to show the car. Just state the facts and sit back. Put a reserve on it. Good luck. Best advice is DON'T SELL. You will never get it back.

Tahoe- thanks for the advice. Would prefer not to sell, now that it's running as well as it is, but finances are finances...

What kind/year are you selling?

The best way to sell your Healey is to make it known through groups like this one, the Healey on-line chat group and your local Healey club newsletter.

I think ebay sucks. Uninformed buyers, rip off sellers, poorly represented cars and shills populate the site. If you want a truly well represented car buy it from somebody that has a reputation in the Healey community. If you're selling, use the enthusiast groups and you're almost certain to sell at a fair price. Well, that's my 2 cents

Chris, it's actually in very good shape, newly rebuilt engine (balanced, etc.), rebuilt M type carbs, etc. Exterior is in very good condition, interior as well. It's nicer than a driver, but I've never done the show thing. I got it to drive it.

I am willing to discuss any reasonable offers.

Richard
