Self-tuning Guitar?

When they come out with a self tuning, self playing guitar.... then I'll be interested!

Hmmm. could be intresting. Especially to be able to change tunings quickly for that one or two songs you play that requires it.
Oh, and Roofman, I believe what you're looking for is called a "radio" hehehehe

I can tune the darned thing just fine, it's the playing I'm still having trouble with. I should take lessons again, or maybe practice more.

Thanks for the video link, Basil.

Interesting concept, but I think about things like weight and complexity first -- maybe I'm just a Luddite, but I'd rather my instruments be simple and absolutely reliable. My main bass has active EMG electronics, and I never gig without a backup. I've had issues in the past, and hate to be unprepared at a show.

Don't think I'll trade in my Tele just yet.

I've got a good friend that's a professional luthier. He builds classical guitars and lutes. One of those self tuner mechanisms would be great to tune the strings on one of these archlutes with it's 23 strings! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Jerry Willard, a world class performer has several of my friends instruments, one of them an archlute.
