Seriously though, Doc - it won't necessarily leak out on the inner fender & there'll be no telltale issue other than the front wheels won't roll.
 
I'm referrin' to when ya gotta yank the silly thing outta th' car. And ~sometimes~ the switches fail BECAUSE the seals get stiff and fluid will leach from around the switch threads onto the inner fender. THAT's a MESS. Usually not discovered until it's too late.
