For ideas:
Cape do a more modern seat and fitting kit that they fit into their cape sport conversions (modern improvements on ah's):

They also do the 100'S' slotted back type seats as specials.

Lin, can't help as far as having sat in an original AC seat but here are a few other potential sources for seats..... you might try Superformance they make a very accurate AC Cobra replica. https://www.superformance.com/mkIII.aspx
Probably the most accurate of all is Kirkham Motorsports (aluminum body) and they even have an FIA version (narrow body 289) which would be a close match in size to a Healey https://www.kirkhammotorsports.com/289_st/index.html They probably sell the seats separate.
I have seen Ridgard seats (very period) in a number of Healeys in the UK...and, in fact, that is what mine are... https://www.ridgardseats.co.uk/Web_pages/PRODUCTS_RALLY.html

I too have considered getting (repro) AC Cobra seats for my car. I just haven't done anything yet, as I'd want them to match the rest of my (yet to be purchased/installed) interior. My trouble, is I don't want to go to with black, more like a burgundy color.
