seatback recliner

Awhile back there was some discussion about how to make the seatback recliner work. A few said that they had broken the operating lever or said it was possible, so we should be careful. Well, the spouse just had to have the seatback adjusted and it wouldn't co-operate. Not wanting to snap the handle, I removed it and applied a 12" crescent wrench to the square shaft. A few strong wiggles, center to rear, and it decided to work just fine!

Yesterday I took the seat covering off and replaced it with an un-torn cover and decided to WD40 the weird mechanism that operates the seat recliner, but I don't think it was really necessary. Just operating the thing once in awhile should suffice.

Good tip! I bet that one gets used more than once. Those things can be buggers. I tip my cap, Guv'na
