Seat removal

I wanna remove whats left of the seat bottoms and bring them in the house to fix them up, and find somewhere to get them reupholstered. So how do I remove em? Do they just slide out? or do I have to unbolt them from the bottom?

You must unbolt them but it's really easy to
accomplish. You will need a socket and an
open end wrench. Then they lift out.

Can I remove just the bottoms or are they one with the top half?

While you are at it, have the shop give you a price to replace all of the seat padding at once, when they repair the upholstery. Trust me, they need it and you and your butt will be happier when it's done correctly. Not to mention the passenger butt as well.

Oh yeah....I planned on doing the padding too...The drivers side has completely collapsed, it's like sitting in a hole.

There are two bolts at the front where the seat pivots. The rear is fastened by a 'hook' arrangemnt that when lvered out of the way allows the seats to tilt forward. Which is handy for stowing parcels on the parcel shelf when the hard top is on.

Undo those two bolts (per seat) and the whole seat will lift out leaving the runners mounted to the floor.
