Seat Question

Does anyone know of a seat that is height adjustable, that will fit into a 1972 Midget?

My wife is 5'1" and I'm 6'0". The seat fits me fine right now, but my wife needs a cushion to sit on in order to see well. The seats really need to be re-done/replaced and if we just re-do the seats, the new padding will probably work great for my wife, but I'll end up looking over the windshield like I do in her Sprite.

Thanks,

I've not heard of any 'height adjustable' -- I would increase the size of the spacers underneath the rails of her seat. Same effect.

I've a couple of pieces of wood between the seat rail and the deck, maybe about 1 1/2", had to use longer bolts however.

I wonder if a MINI seat would fit and then you guys could pump it up or down. Just kidding of course, I like the block of wood idea, but then if she was driving, you would look like Dino sitting on the passenger side. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

I went form a midget with out the seat rail to one with
and yes the change is dramatic. to the point where I had to move the rear veiw mirror.
rig some thing that will fill some sort of air bladder in side the seat

You could always rig a tapered block under the rails. That way when the seat is back then it is down and when slid forward it raises up some.

I like the air ride seat idea!

Thanks for all the ideas and information. I first thought of Miata seats, but my all of Miata buddies said they weren't height adjustable. I don't think early-Integra seats are either.

Time to start measuring the WRX seats to see if they'll fit...

I had an 88 Integra (loved that car, never failed once over 120,000 miles, but gladly traded up to a Lexus) and it did not have any height adjustment.

The nice thing about the early Integra from a Brit point of view is that it was a joint design effort with the Rover and Honda design teams - you can see hints and traces of Rover SD1 design features in it.

Daughter's Intergra is on it's last legs with if I recall correctly 268,000 miles of fsairly hard life.

Can Integra seats fit in s Spridget. Look to be too wide to me.

yes, I would say they would be too wide, and way too high at the back to look right in a spridget

Mine was a 1988. It's nine years since I parted with it, but I do remember the seats were firm, with what seemed like very little padding, but nonetheless extremely comfortable.

Keep the Integra - it will be a classic in 30 years time.
