Anyone have a good source for a pair of blue front seatbelts for my BJ7?

I'm finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

I purchased a pair of 3 point belts with the MG/Austin Healey logo on the buckle from Sports & Classics in black. Don't know if they have them in blue or not.

Thanks Shorn

I originally bought some vintage style Luke 3 point from Cape and now feel they are just a little over the top (till you really need them). Now I'm looking for something a little less obtrusive and easier on a new interior.

By the way did you make it to Nelson?

[/ QUOTE ]------yes they might have them but there in the middle of moving the store to a new location might be a while before they can locate them for you. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif

For a 65 Healey Blue BJ8, were the lap seatbelts (not the 3 point over-the-shoulder ones)installed at the dealership dark blue or black? Did the factory install lap seatbelts or the 3-point over-the-should belts? If the factory installed either type, was the belt dark blue or black? A bit of trivia I've been trying to find--mine are black, but I've seen more dark blue ones. My car is going to the trim shop today for some comestic surgery, and this would be an opportune time to get the belts right. Many thanks in advance.

Yes, I made it to Nelson. Had a great time, but it was HOT, especially the drive up and back in eastern Washington. Nelson is a great spot.
My 64 ph1 Healey had dealer installed black seat belts, that wore out. So I replaced them with the 3 pt. belts from Sports & Classic, which are also black but so is my interior. Don't know if they come in blue, but I think they do.

MY 1966 BJ8 [Miss Blue] has dealer installed original lap type seat belts which are black also.---Keoke- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif

MP,

As others have pointed out. If you cannot find blue than black works well. My interior is blue and I have the black lap belts from Moss. They look like older airline lap belts and seem period correct.

I bet your getting anxious to finish up the restoration. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The Nelson Rendezvous in British Columbia was a once in a lifetime experience. Thanks go out to your club members for being such great hosts.

I went for racing harness because if i had installed normal ones, even if they were not installed as standard equipment i would be breaking the laws out here by not using!, with the racing type i have them flummoxed!, its my choice to use or not!, ie not mandatory just coz they are instaled!

Thanks everyone!

Blue or black won't make much difference to me so I'll see what I can find online.

Tracy I can finally see the finish line and in about another 3 to 4 weeks I should be ready to rumble (famous last words).

I myself didn't make it to Nelson but look forward to the next one. Is it to be held in San Diego?

Moneypit,
If you would like to see a photo of the Sports & Classic seat belts, Just private message me your email and I will send a couple of photos to you. I have had trouble posting photos on the forum, too large a file.

The next Healey Rendezvous will be held in Richland, Washington, July 16-20, 2007. The host club is the Cascade Austin-Healey Club.

There is also a BIG meeting scheduled for the following year in San Diego. That will be the Austin-Healey Club of America's annual "Conclave," and the 2008 edition will honor the Sprite, which marks its 50th birthday in 2008. Make plans now!

The Washington trip sounds like a great one to attend. San Diego would be a blast via the Oregon coast but that's a lotta miles. I've done L.A. to San Francisco on a Goldwing and that in itself was a long but great trip!
