Seat Belts Question

Hi,

My belts are looking rather shabby, and I think it's time to replace them. There are some on at good prices at TRF (this weekend only). Does anyone have experience with the ones from TRF?

Has anyone tried the static type 3 point belts or should I just go with the inertia type?

Thanks.

Todd.

Hi Todd - static work fine but are more fiddly to be sure. I'll defer to others about the quality of the TRF items (never bought them myself) but having the belt retract is nice in my opinion.

I bought some static ones for my TR6, to replace the spooled-out Kangols, and they work OK. The seem to ride higher on the shoulder side, but not ever using the Kangols, don't know how they compare.
That TRF inertia price is tempting, though......

Thanks guys.

I've ordered the non-retractable one from TRF. I'll take a look at them when they arrive and see if the look the same as the ones at gobelts. Prices are simmilar though.

Cheers

I'll second the Gobelts choice. Gobelts appears to be Beam Industries who supplied the seat belt sets I put in my'74 TR6 two years ago.

They make a retractable set that is about as close to original as you will find today. The reels are almost identical to the originals, but the buckles and stalks are a bit different. The buckles are close enough though and while not exact, they look right....not too modern. Email if you want an installed pic.

I bought mine through Wishbone classics.

good luck, w
