TR6 Seat belt warning bypass for new harness.

I'm installing a new wiring harness in my 72 TR6 and it just donned on me that my aftermarket seatbelts do not include any kind of warning switch to connect the wiring to. What experiences are out there for dealing with this situation? The car is being reassembled so access to everything is still possible. Thanks

If you really want to have a functional seat belt buzzer, then you'll have to find belts that incorporate the switch.

Otherwise, just hide the wires and ignore the problem. Unlike some later cars, you just won't get the warning light and buzzer.

Life without the buzzer and the light would be fine. Does the seatbelt warning system affect the ignition system, i.e. car won't start if the seatbelt isn't fastened? I know the later 74 model was complicated as things were linked together and the car wouldn't start. If I can get away with not connecting them then that works for me.

No, it won't affect the starter on a 72. All that happens is that the warning light and buzzer won't show the belts are not fastened. The buzzer will even still work to show the key is in the ignition (if you can find the proper door switch).

Even on a 74, all you have to do is unplug the module and put a jumper in the plug.
