Season's Beatings!

hmmm - does this happen in other countries at Christmas?

That article mentioned Britain as well. The media could call attention to the horror of just about anything.

Quite a way to celebrate someone who's over all philosophy was love one another. Don't recall anywhere it says "smack the guy next to you and get a cheap TV"... I went to the supermarket Friday and stayed home the rest of the day, didn't need the hassle.

I would so love to go back to the kinder, more gentle times. Yup, loved the 50's. The "all about me" attitude just plain sucks. Perhaps this is the minority but it overtakes those who truly are kind and caring. MHO

Amen to that! (Altho' the 1950s wasn't kind and caring to everyone, I don't recall shootings and brawls in department stores back then.)

Unfortunately there is no period in history that was kind and caring to everyone, and probably never will be, despite that wonderful Coke commercial. Best we can do is try our best to be personally kind as possible to the people we interact with.

Yes!
The Golden Rule comes to mind.

My theory is: we are getting better & more tolerant....... on the whole.

but it still only take one bad apple to spoil the barrel.
And, unfortunatly with the ease of obtaining assault level fire power(& other nasty stuff), the bad....are worse;
coupled with the mass media play-by-play instant info dumps.
The public hears way to much way to often.

Everything I want to say about this breaks the no politics rule. :rolleyes:

(Me three) That said, Looking at this thread another way boss, it is a real litmus test for the civility of this forum. We are into two pages now of a potentially nasty topic and no one has picked it up. Kudos for that sort of tone! I guess you really can leave your house unlocked around here. :grin:
