Has anyone used the rear drums from the Rover SD1 on the TR7/8 axle? I measured the backing plate monting bolts and they are the same (no surprise there). I know from measuring that it will add 8mm in width because of the wider shoes and drum but how to go from 98pcd to 127pcd between the end of the axle monting flange and the inside of the drum is the big question. I plan on using the wheels from my series one SD1 but after calculating the numbers I will still need a spacer between the drum face and wheel of 25mm because of the offset of the wheel. I know that the brakes would just be over kill but it sure would be nice to have that wider drum and shoe combo back there. The simple setup would just be to keep the tr7 brakes and use a spacer to go from 98 to 127pcd and be done with it but I want those bigger brakes! All this will be going along with the uprated front brakes that were on the SD1 (4 pots from Rimmers) the strut towers will be cut and welded back togeather with the TR7 spring mounts and springs but have all the lower end from the SD1.
