Screwing down a valve cover

I am looking at buying a chrome alloy valve cover for my 1275. I see a couple of different ways to screw it down (on a new gasket of course) Thumb nuts or chromed cap nuts rubber and washers. Are they equally as good, ie ensures a good seal. I think the thumb screws look better personally.

I am using kinda like a thumbscrew..Has a bar through it with no leaks...
