I have been following the 2014 Scotch Malts Reliability Trials (on Facebook and Twitter).

The photos are fantastic! Makes me want to got to Scotland. Tomorrow.

There are some similar events here in the eastern USA (really, more in the New England area). Not exactly racing; not exactly rallying. I would love to do one of these at some point:

Thanks for the pics, Nial -- boy that looks pretty. Sampling the fine Scotch would be lovely as well...

I'd love to do this sort of tour/rally some day. Closest here are in California or the Pacific Northwest -- bit of a haul from Utah but worth it some day.

Sounds like fun. Maybe we can make the trip together someday Drew. But only if there's Scotch (or at least beer) involved!

Ill drive, I stopped drinking a few years back. No drives to far if you love your car. As long as you can keep the prince at bay. I can get lost i those pictures. Real good looking cars with great backdrops. Thank you for posting them.

We'll all drive! My days of drinking WHILE I drive are over. The scotch and beer should be waiting at the destination.

Looks fun,...
Think I'll wait for the Bourban Malts tour

Now we just need to get our Bugeyes done...

Heading out to the bodyshop this afternoon for a conjugal visit with mine. I'll snap a few pics to compare with your progress.

Sounds like an excuse to tool around the back-roads of Scotland, in classic cars, looking for distilleries to stop at. I see nothing wrong here. It sounds like an extended version of the Watkins Glen Vintage Grand Prix festival. Just substitute wineries for the stops, and motor around the Finger Lakes.
Great pics! I want to go to Scotland someday.

:yesnod: if there was a drool smilie I could not think of a better time to use it.

Wait a minute . This pic looks shopped somehow

Gorgeous photos and cars, and those are some rally stops I could really enjoy. Thanks for posting.

Looks like runway lights.

Good spot! Here's what it says on the SM website:

Those of you aware of the history of the Turnberry (Resort) will know that a Grand Prix took place on the old (Turnberry) airfield in 1952 with such drivers as Sir Stirling Moss and Mike Hawthorn. Part of the original runway still exists and Clerk of the Course Peter Nedin has inspected the surface and confirms that it is suitable for a test which will allow competitors to drive on part of the area once used for the Grand Prix.

Always good to see LBCs in their native habitat. :joyous:
