Got a member of our car club with a Lancia (Not a scorpion). Very nice little car.
He informed me, in no uncertain terms, that it's properly pronounced "lahn-cha"

But so was just about every other car of that vintage, including our beloved LBC's and ALL American cars on the showrooms. The gutless part can be easily fixed.

No question they look neat and yes, you can revive the spirit with a bunch of money lavished on the motor, and at least they didn't suffer the indignities that, for instance, the rubber bumpered MGBs did, losing much of their power AND handling. The Scorpion can have a 2 litre engine stuck back in (preferably a turbo version) and it revives it wonderfully. The stock item can be blown off by a 1500 MGA. The comparison between it and a Eurospec Montecarlo is really sad (fo rthe Scorpion)

When I still had my TR6, and it was still stock with about 140,000 miles on the engine, I played with a pair of Scorpions at a local track day. When I started to get bored with dicing with them I was easily able to outdistance them. They didn't seem to have much to offer above 80 mph. The owners were incredibly ehtnusiastic fans though and we had a good time on and off the track.
It had a forged motor...alcohol injection....BWA wheels...koni shocks...and was a lot of fun..
Air conditioning never worked.. LOL good thing the roof rolled back ..
It was a sweet ride back in the day.
Although I've been into corvettes for the past dozen years...enjoying my LS3 C6 M6 z51 ....I am interested in seeing the new Alfa 4C as it re launches Alfa in the US of A!
