I was chatting to a mate about the star trek tech that came true eg the communicator that became out flip phone
And Lieutenant Uhura ear communicator that became airpods and similar.
Crew pads like today’s tablets.
Did the tv program inspire the current tech folks ?
What else is there ?

I think the term 'futuristic' might apply to that.
Writers think of an idea and creators steal it.
Creators look at an Idea and create.
So we are all STILL waiting for a practical flying car.
 
How about the pad-became the Ipad and tablets.
 
I know that Martin Cooper, one of the Motorola guys that created the first cell phone in the 70s, said that the Star Trek communicator is what inspired them to work towards the cell phone.
 
And AI is so agreeable. Want to talk to a "boy" or "girl" that always agrees?? Pick AI. Someone who encourages, or at least doesn't question, your worst impulses?? Pick AI. Reminds me of some Twilight Zone or Outer Limits episodes...
