Schumi in a Coma

And going back to it all being relative, I know people that won't get in ANY LBC with or without a helmet. "Aren't you worried about safety?" I suppose it's a lot like my skiing without a helmet.

and then there was Natasha Richardson (Liam Neesons wife) who was on a kiddie hill taking lessons without a helmet.

A good friend of mine is on the ski patrol on the Mountain. One of the finest trained patrols in the nation. If you happen to run into Tary King tell him Darwin says hi.

Will do, made note. I've gone to Woman Lake and been thru Pine River several times over the years, love your area. Used to be Lantern Bay but they bulldozed it, Keeneemoosha but they don't take dogs. Still, could be you get a shout one of these summers.

Schumi had another surgery today...still critical, but stable.

I have a friend that was a mounted police officer and was thrown from her mount. She landed on her head - with a helmet. The injury was so traumatic that they airlifted her to the hospital and called in the Honor Guard, as they didn't think she would make it. Thankfully, she pulled through with no ill effects other than the lack of eye dominance, i.e., either one of her eyes can be the dominant eye, (kind of important when your shooting). She showed us the helmet. The helmet was completely intact save one crack. You wouldn't think from the shape of the helmet that the head injury would have been that severe.
