We just got back from Charleston,South Carolina.
It was in the 70's most of the time, unlike California.
I met Wray Lemke, from the British Car Club of -
- Charleston. He gave me a ride in his immaculate B.We
went to another member's home, who had a few Spitfires,
& a few Stags. He also has a nice GT6 body to give away,
if anyone's interested.
I was pleasently surprised to see that people were
overall friendly & polite (until they get in their cars!).
I found out that American Lafrance has a factory there,
although it was very hard to find.Seems that the companies
that bought them out are destroying the company.I also
noticed that hardly any fire departments in the area buy
their products. That seemed kind of sad to me.Oh yeah - & gas is $1.45 a gallon there.
I did see 2 MGBs - a cb,& a rb,near the ocean,just
rusting away - what a waste.

That's REALLY sad. How will departments going to keep the old ones in proper shape? I know they aren't "modern" but there are so many wonderful examples around the country which are amazingly well maintained.
