...so here's how I spent my day:

'94 Honda Civic 4-door, 156K+ miles.

R&R R.F. inner wheel arch plastic shroud and half-arsed repair a caved in fender to keep the door from doing any MORE damage. Hit 'n run parking lot incident. Things are like tinfoil, most of the 'fix' was by hand just pushing it back. a short piece of 2x4 for leveraged shoving.

Reattach right rear plastic bumper cover. Same cause, earlier incident.

L.O.F. & fluids checked, topped off.

A/C charged and working now.

R&R cellphone charging socket (A.K.A. 'cigar lighter').

R&R left headlamp bulb.

TRY to locate a rear muffler so the lad won't be mistaken for a BoiRacer any longer. The attention from the younger chicks is startin' to annoy his lovely bride. NOBODY has a rear box for this thing locally. I thought these things were "the most popular" of the Rising Sun Empire's offerings. No noise reducer 'til Monday.

Brake check; yup it has some of 'em.

I wuz cryin' too. Mostly due to knowing I could be doin' something else, like bench racing and beer drinking! It's SATURDAY fer cryin' out loud. I should be fussin' with nothin'.

OTOH, the grill is due to be fired up shortly, Italian sausages, fresh Cuban bread, CAB's, mebbe a salad... chime up th DVD plpayer an' watch four hours of old Flash Gordon episodes... Ming the Merciless! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

A trick a friend of mine taught me for body dents -
- take an old basketball,deflate,put behind dent,slowly
reinflate with a hand pump.A clean dent will usually
pop back to original shape. It's worth a try.

This'n had a bit of a kink but that would have been worth a try. IF I had a B-ball. The 'skin' on that thing is easily mauled.

I've used toilet plungers to pull 'em and filled bike tanks with water and frozen 'em. Never thought of that'n tho. Thanks, Doug!! That's brill!

that's cause all the RicerBois are ditching the quiet cans for burping cans /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

stores stock what's in demand ... ya know? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

<slaps forehead> DUH! I should just stuff one-a them razzer thingies on it an' shrug! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

The way I figure, if you want a quiet box on a car you can always go to the local muffler shop and pick up one of their generack mufflers. It doesn't have to be a Honda part after all does it? It just needs to be a size that'll fit in the space allowed. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

OR you could pick up a 'Cherry Bomb' brand muffler from the local vato-zone /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif Their website says they carry them, but I don't think they're the same as what people use to get 'back in the day' /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

the lad wot pilots this "conveyance" is an ex-Navy fella, and mostly not wanting to stick 'iz 'ead up... I'll find a snuff-box t'morow. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

well, I don't think that Honda will ever match the silence of a nuclear powered missile boat.....

Thanks Scotty! I'll file it away for future reference. Bro has a DelSol thingie, and this Civic has been in my care for a decade now. I'll need that site.

Cowboy came by with his '66 B earlier and I got a reprieve from the Hodroid! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

I did a LOF and plug swap. The dizzy drive dog had been tossed in the engine arbitrarily and the #1 plugwire was lined up at about 4 O'clock on the dizz so I put it all right and proper. We fetched the Honda silencer and a 12 pack with the Spider, putter'd with his car a bit, sat and bench-raced 'til four. He left and I knobbed on the Honda a bit. I slopped a Walker after-market box on it in 15 minutes after Cowboy roared off. Sounds fine now. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
