So, am watching the Look at Life series on youtube - don't know if you know these but they are a huge (over 500) series of shoort movies made to replace news reels before movies in Britain - they were made through the late 50's and 60's. I love them, quaint, gorgeous colour (Eastman colour (Kodacolor?)) and much about technology as Britain modernized after the war.

Here are just two:

Oh and check out the police car - I'm impressed!

It's Saturday and I'm unmotivated too, but I'm tired of looking at an unorganized kitchen pantry, so I'm cleaning the pantry today!

Unmotivated as well. But still have to replace a client's laptop scratch drive and stuff a recovered Acronis image onto it... Acronis lies! It said: "6 minutes left" for about half an hour. After two hours it reports: "1 minute 30 seconds left". BAH!!

As one of my bosses used to say "do something, even if it is wrong" always look busy. Be careful in the pantry and do not mess with wife's organization. My sister-in-laws husband retired and knows nothing of organizing. He took he library of books and emptied the shelves and refilled the shelves in order of size, small to large, he thought it looked better. She has not made any new meals or done any sewing or anything that comes out of a book, she will not do an hours search to find her books. Went from indexed of cooking, sewing, fiction, auto, music, and etc. to size. Be careful, you don't want her in your car, computer, or photography filing it as she wants.

My wife is being consulted every 5 minutes - "Honey, we have not used this piece of Tupperware for 10 years, can I toss it? (The answer is usually "No, I might need it.")

this falls under the category of " better to seek forgiveness than ask permission "

What I thought would be a quick job turned out to be an all-day affair; but I feel good when I walk into the pantry now!
