Saturday AM "Meeting."

My "across the street" neighbor shows up some Saturday mornings bearing ham-egg-n-cheese sandwiches from a local Mom-n-Pop, we stand around for a while glommin' down the delicacies, discussing current events and politics, get to tell the "Watchtower" crowd they should keep their propaganda for someone who'll actually read it, talk over house projects and bicycles. Nice to be able to trust your neighbors. This family has been across the street for twenty years now. Sometimes it's nice to be 'home.'

Just an observational comment. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Re: Saturday AM "Meeting."

I'm in the same kinda neighborhood, Doc...

...y'day afternoon I'm driving down to Birmingham when my cell phone rings...its my next door neighbor asking if a green Camaro with a couple of 'rowdy' guys should be in my drive & the guys should be on my porch...I didn't recognize the car so he said he'd walk over to check 'em out....

...he phoned me back to say they were a couple of guys from the crew that had installed my new heat pump the previous day stopping on their way home to correct a few things their boss had seen when he came by afterward to check their work.

Good to have neighbors you actually know!~

Re: Saturday AM "Meeting."

Amen to that.

Neighbours across the street, one works from home and is the nosy type. The other is retired, serves as a city alderman, and is the police department liason for the city council. Next door, both are retired and are the local neighbourhood watch co-ordinators. I also have two large dogs, and two large sons, one or the other is usually around (okay, in bed!) while I am at work.

Everyone knows everyone else, and we do watch out for each other.

Re: Saturday AM "Meeting."

Doc, I'm with ya on the good neighbors. We're very lucky to have wonderful folks as neighbors and it really makes life more pleasurable, IHMO.

There's not one single troll in our entire neighborhood, it's almost unbelieveable. We actually considered selling our home awhile back, but didn't simply because of the wonderful neighbors we have.

I've had some bad neighbors in the past (one guy shot my dog!!!). To have good ones is truly one of the greatest, simple pleasures, I think.

And of course, Charlotteville is a great place to live, too. Doubly blessed. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
