(especially when its a really, really sharp razor knife).

Actually, I sprayed it off with the garden hose, sealed it up with duct tape and kept working for another hour. Doctor was amused.

Feel free to fire away.....I know I'm a dumb @$$ for doing this. :jester:

You must have done a good job cleaning - don't see much swelling or redness...
 
Forget duct tape. Next time use super-glue (CA). No, I'm not joking.

Yeah I asked the Doc about that but she said this was a high-tension area and it wouldn't work.

As you probably know, the CA super-glue was first developed for surgical purposes.
I know it works because I've glued my fingers together lots of times. :jester:

Scar on the back of my neck from motorcycle shifter (not good to ride bikes upside-down, through the air ).
Big keloid on left arm ("drilled in" by motorcycle exhaust stud on running engine during another "flight")
Big ankle scar (fording "stream" on XR-250 Honda....turned out to be a "river"

I'm a biker. I have the epidermis to prove it.

I cut myself before I went away to Rehoboth Beach last week, so it pretty much healed while I was lounging about on the beach.

I saw a good tee shirt on the boardwalk: <span style="font-style: italic">"Scars are tatoos with a better story." </span> :laugh:
 
I've had similar lessons, but I never seem to learn it all the way. Many svars from the attempts, though.
 
You should work with razor blades for a living.
Eventually you cut yourself and I have the scars to prove it and since I am right handed almost all on my left hand.
I have thrown away close to a million blades in my career
 
I work with X-Acto knives/blades for a living!!! Been there...done that..You'd think I'd learn, but every so often...ooops! How did you get that pic of my hand?? :devilgrin:
That poor left hand always gets the abuse!! :rolleyes:
 
Plenty of scars here too of both types {cuts and burns} 30+ years of playing with sparks for a living and a lifetime of being a jack of all trades and master of ? gave me plenty of opportunity for my fair share of cuts and scrapes.
Where are my burns, mostly on my arms. But I even have a few in places where you wouldn`t want to look :p
I`v had sparks go in my ears {not a pleasant sound at all I might add}
I`v had more than my fair share of metal of all types dug out of my eyes.
Yes even wearing a face shield and safety glasses they CAN get in!
All of this just goes to prove one can not take too many precautions or be too safety conscious.
Welders have a saying concerning injury .... "if it can happen it will, If it hasn`t happened it eventually will, If it can`t happen watch out there is always a first time for everything.
B.T.W. welding is definitely not a job for the timid!
 
Was a foundry millwright, machinist, mechanic, and farmer. All had their hazards but the millwright job was the worst. Saw many accidents and extracted several guys out machinery. Lost limbs, severe burns, some over large portions of the body. And one year we had five guys killed in three different events. Knew four of them and a couple were friends. And I can identify with Kerry about welding in strange places.

People wonder why I get more than a little excited when I see things that are not safe.
