What can I say? Dan was a great guy, and will be missed.
It takes a little piece of our heart every time something like this happens. I guess all of us that race realize that when you strap in there are no guarantees, but that doesn't make it any easier to swallow.
Godspeed, Dan.

It stinks. I didn't know this guy, but it STILL makes me heart-sick. Knowing firsthand how something like this affects family and friends is really an unnerving trauma.

Friends ask....."Aren't you afraid of dieing".

I say yea.......At the beginning of the race.

How do you convince them you are sane, while admitting that your passion can take your life.

Checking out in a race car sure beats being found dead during morning rounds in some nursing home.

Although this is probably little consolation to his family.

My sympathy to them....
