We took a trip to the Vintage Saab Museum in Ft. Dodge, Iowa I thought it would be a neat trip, it was a great trip, we saw: A Saab Sonett I, one of only six made, what a pretty little sports racer. The Oldest Saab in North America, a 92 The World Speed Record Holder for 750cc and under sports cars (about 115mph from a two stroke triple!) A 44 mile all original Saab Sonett III And so much more
 
Never knew about that place. Saab has/had quite a history. I saw an early 1960s (93?) at our local classic car mechanic last week. Mechanic said SAAB = Something's Always About to Break.

I thought British cars were quirky, yes, the British car guys and Saab guys swapped stories about reliability, I was graciously offered a drive in an early two stroke, and I offered the proprietor a ride in my TR250, after the little two stroke with a pull starter and three on the tree I felt like the TR250 was pretty mainstream....
 
A fella I worked with years ago had one like the blue one in the museum and I think it was a 3 cylinder 2 stroke engine. It always smoked like crazy when he took off! It was amusing to me at the time. PJ
