RVI Tach w/ crane ignition?

Hey guys,

I've read some back posts about tachs and wanted some clarifications. On my 68, the tach doesn't seem to be working. I have a crane ignition and RVI style tach(looked like in old posts they weren't compatible). Are these two things in fact not compatable? Do I need to get the later type RVC? If so, will it fit and what is the right way to hook it up?

It seems that I remember crane offering an adapter to allow an induction tach to work. Or maybe not. Anyone?

I reinstalled my later sprite tach in the bugeye and miswired the wire to the ign. switch and the coil. It didn't work until I switched it to the correct way.
