TR2/3/3A Rusty pushrods

The engine of my TR3A was dismantled years ago and the pushrods and tappets sat in a fishing tackle box for years. When I fished them out (a pun) they had surface rust, which I washed away with a professional solvent. Then I polished all with fine steel wool. They are solid but three tappets and a couple pushrods have some surface corrosion/etching. Is there any reason why I can not use these as I rebuild the engine?--jj

Thie first couple of months I owned my 59 TR3A I had a pushrod break driving only around 35mph from a cruise night.
Had to have it towed home. Needed to pull the head off to get the bottom half of the pushrod out, glad I did because there were bits of the broken pushrod in there.

Since it was all apart I replaced all the pushrods with heavier 3/8 pushrods (factory were 5/16 ) and all new upgraded lifters from Moss, the parts weren't very expensive. I would suggest getting new parts.
