Borders Bookstore bought a fine old building on St. Charles Ave. in New Orleans and completely gutted the entire building, saving only the outer wall shells, for historic purposes. The new bookstore is something to see. Will open a about a week. Can't wait. About 5 blocks from my sons home in the hood, the Irish Channel.

Wow! sure beats the typical mall-box Borders we see around here.

I've seen one other Borders like that in Kansas City, I think...3 floors in an old building...it also was neat.
 
There's a big one in Glagow too, in an older building.

Its a great store... I can spend hours (and lots of ÂŁÂŁÂŁÂŁ) in there....
