TR4/4A Rubber wiper motor mounts

Can anybody tell me a good way to get the rubber isolators that are used on the wiper motor mount plate in? They are thick and hard and don't seem to want to go in at all. With regular grommets you can bend them and manipulate them but these don't have that flexibility because they are so thick. 65 TR4A Bruce

Try getting them very warm. Heat gun or hot water.

Or cut them laterally to make them into two pieces that are fit from above and below. You certainly wouldn't be the first to resort to that.
 
That makes sense Geo. I tried heating them and it did make them more pliable but still did not want to try to go in. If I cut them flush with one side then the center "pass thu" will still work I think. I hate to do that but you have to do what you have to do and nobody should notice. Just wanted to make sure there was not some method I didn't think of. Bruce
