rubber door seal question

so, I finally bought a car. 2000 Intrepid - I know - I've seen the pity in friend's eyes - they don't have to speak. Seriously, it was in great shape and a great deal and suits the current family needs. AND I get to pour my extra love (and money actually) into the Midget.

Anyway, the drivers side rear door has the door seal drooping. It's complete and undamaged but doesn't "bite" the metal flange the way it used to. Also -it seems to have shrunk - is this possible? While on the subject of shrinking, the upper rear corner of the driver's door seal also seems to have shrunk away from the corner. Any thoughts about reattaching?

TIA

"3M Weatherstrip Adhesive" (0 51135). But both surfaces must be absolutely clean for it to work well.

You can usually close up the channel with a pair of slip-joint pliers. Then use the 3M adhesive prescribed by the good Doctor.
They do shrink a bit. Best solution there, is to pull an extra length off of the door opening in a straight area and gently stretch it as you put it back on the flange. By the time you get to the end you should have enough without it pulling out at the corners.
We're pickin up our new ride tomorrow.. keep ya posted.
