I'm just curious, at what RPM and/or speed do you shift out of third into forth and at what speed do you you use the OD? I seem to use the over-drive less and less lately. I like the sound and feel of doing 50mph in third. It does drop the mpg some.

I'd be interested to know how many drivers have left the OD wiring as per original and how many have wired out the throttle switch. As wired originally it drops off when you have cut the dash switch and then only when you accelerate rather like kick down on an auto box? I find it a bit messy to use wired originally and am considering wiring out the throttle switch.

Mine is as original. When I bought the car it went on and off using the dash switch only. Miss wired at the relay box. It would buck when it came out of OD. When wired properly it is a dream to use. A lot more fun once you are use to it.

I love driving with mine, as wired and rigged as original. Your folks who bypass the throttle switch just have to be careful you don't flip it off doing 65 or 70 in top gear. Not good for the gearbox.
 
I have maintained the throttle switch because it was designed in to protect the transmission/overdrive. If you disconnect the throttle switch, you risk damaging the trans/OD. It's your car, make your choice, but do it with knowledge of the consequences.
 
I have had it both ways.....currently have the throttle switch disconnected. To each his own, but I prefer it this way.
