Rover 3.5 Engine Numbers

Hello folks: OK I have a 75 RHD STAG with a Rover 3.5L replacing the Triumph "you know what". The engine transplant was done by Peak Performance (Heathrow) UK, not in biz now. It has to be an older V-8 but I cannot find the where the Engine numbers are located...not on the "even # cylinder bank" so then where? I'm doing the last bits on ignition... engines turns with compression but won't fire off..more useless questions later.

On the drivers side, below the heads, between the two middle lowest head bolts, there will be a flat area with the number and comp ratio stamped into it. It is part of the engine block. Sometimes it is difficult to see with manifolds on. It will probably start with a 12 or 13. Most swapped motors came from Rover SD1s.
