This may be old news to some forum members but it was new to me and could be useful info for Sunbeam and other Rootes Group folks. About a year ago, Peugeot gave literally tons of archival material to the Association of Rootes Car Clubs in the UK. This included production drawings and build records of cars made from 1939 to 1962.
The new news is that a group has been formed to research factory records for current owners and to provide a “Rootes Archive Trust Certificate” with the various ID numbers, colors, build dates, shipping info, and so on for a given car. Cost is £20. I have contact info but it appears to be a person's work e-mail so I'm reluctant to post it but if anyone wants it PM me & I'll send it. (Or maybe someone else knows for sure it's ok to use and can post it.)
[ I read this in an obscure UK based autojumble newspaper in an article written by a friend who served his apprenticeship at Rootes. He had a chance to see some of the material when it was first delivered and was thrilled to see some old drawings with his initials.]
