The MG sat a while. Months, actually. Last time I started it (two weeks back), there was some nasty "I won't idle anymore" comin' from it. Gave it a Round Tuit. Not our daily transporter, sooo...
Decided to light 'er up and decipher what the issue was. After trying to get it to temp, concluded the Weber was somehow misbehaving. Only revved on the accel pump circuit, wouldn't run otherwise. Kinda tellin' IYSWIM.
Pulled the carb off, opened it up to find some sort of ~jellied~ crap in the bottom of the float bowl. It would be hard to blame this on Stabil or SeaFoam... again: IMO the ethanol is at fault. In over forty years of fettlin' with carbs and induction, NEVER have I seen stuff like I've found in the last decade.
Now in process of rebuilding a DCOE, so roofing will be postponed. Ben can approach sans fear of actual <span style="font-style: italic"><span style="font-weight: bold">work</span></span>.
