Would the roll bar owners do me a huge favour please?
If anyone has a pdf of installation instructions, or multitudes of photos of where they bolt to, I'd really appreciate it.
It doesn't matter what type of bar.
You can email me them directly if there are a lot of pics, or of a huge size to:

Thanks all.

Sorry I can't help with a bolt in, Barry. Mine are all welded in. I'm certain we have quite a few bolt in installations among us, though.

Not all are the same. For Bugsy my '68 Sprite I got rollbar in place and carefully drilled and used as large a backing plate as would fit in there. Combination of bolts, backing washers, anything to distribute the load. BTW it is a two person job to install the rollbar if bolted in. Your arms cannot reach both ends. Be careful with positioning as top bows will rub against the rollbar if not completely centered. When putting on the top cover, I need to pull the bracket sideways to allow room the the convertible top boot cover to fit on the P.S.

Do I feel more secure with rollbar mounted in car - yes

Is it better to have it welded in - yes

Have I seen what happens to a Spridget when T-Boned by a Buick running a Stop Sign. - Yes and the driver did walk away as rollbar prevented Buick from running over the top of the car and allowed the Spridget to be pushed sideways.

Do I want to test it's integrity - No, I just hope it helps in the event of an accident.

Hey Jim... Why not tack weld the heads of the bolts?

Thanks guys, I'm not installing a roll bar, just want to know where a bolt-in would bolt into.
A metal worker friend of mine is going to fab (weld or bend) a 1.5 bar for a camera to mount to, but want to know where the best place to secure it would be.
It'll be removed as soon as the fun is over.

Maybe this will help. Redoing the interior ATM.

Before you start drilling or welding, if it's just to place a camera check out this site: https://www.fastfilms.co.uk
I'm sure they can point you in the direction of a US supplier, and your car will stay as standard!

I thought you'd like that!
